LUTEINofta® - Lutein for the development and defence of the eyesight.
LUTEINofta® drops is a dietary supplement of LUTEIN and ZEAXANTIN.
LUTEIN and its isomer ZEAXANTIN are two carotenoids which are naturally widespread but which the human body unable to synthesize.
Following absorption, LUTEIN and ZEAXANTIN spread to all tissues, but selectively accumulate in the eye, in particular in the retina and the macula lutea. This latter is responsible for the ability to see sharp images, and its development is complete at around the 4th-5th month of life.
LUTEIN and ZEAXANTIN are pigments present in the macula lutea and help to maintain the functioning and integrity of the sensitive structures of the eye (retina, iris, crystalline lens) preventing or minimizing damage caused by free radicals.
LUTEIN and ZEAXANTIN pass through the placental barrier and are also present in colostrum and maternal milk and are believed to help in the process of development of vision in the newborn.
LUTEIN and ZEAXANTIN are useful for eye health both in adults and children from the first hours of life.
A supplement of these substances is therefore necessary in situations of increased need or diminished intake, both during the maturation of the eye structures for vision (macula) and for their preservation.
LUTEIN and ZEAXANTIN have no contraindications and can be taken by any age group.

LUTEINofta® drops are indicated in cases of increased need for or reduced dietary intake of its ingredients in all age groups.
LUTEINofta® drops can be particularly useful in the prevention of damage to the retina or macula due to excess free radicals, or where greater protection against oxidative stress is required or during the development of the eyesight. |
