PROLID OFTA® Spray – Eye spray containing Vitamin A and Vitamin E in a nanotechnology suspension.
PROLID OFTA® Eye Spray contributes to restoring the lipid component present in the palpebral fissure in cases of functional or tissue changes. It has a protective action and aids in the palpebral fissure's reparative processes.
The action of PROLID OFTA® Eye Spray may contribute to maintaining the functionality of the palpebral fissure and improvement of the eyelid tissue's elasticity.
Liposomes are small vesicles with a diameter of between 20 and 500 millionths of a millimetre (50 [sic]-500 nm). They are made up of a double layer of phospholipids containing an aqueous nucleus that may incorporate hydro[philic] active ingredients, while the double phospholipid layer may incorporate lipophilic active ingredients. This last property allows for the solubilization, or making available to the tissues, of the active ingredients that normally, owing to their lipophilic characteristics, cannot be administered in aqueous phase.

Vitamins A and E, owing to their soothing, emollient properties, contribute to keeping the palpebral and periocular tissue in optimum condition and, in synergy with liposomes, provide functional support to the lipid component present in the palpebral fissure.
Vitamin E is also a potent antioxidant essential for countering the formation of free radicals, toxic substances for all of the body's tissues, and preventing the degradation of Vitamin A.
The combined use of liposomes containing Vitamin A and Vitamin E also facilitates the protective and reparative effect that is helpful in all cases of eye irritation, swelling and itching.

SCOPE OF USE
Supplement to the lipid component of the eyelid and of the palpebral fissure, even in the presence of inflammatory processes: redness, itching and burning of the eyelid, including those of an iatrogenic nature secondary to the use of hypotonic eyewashes containing carbonic anhydrase inhibitors.
It is also helpful, because of its soothing, emollient and cleansing capacity, in the prevention and reduction of eyelid darkening and stretching of the ciliary body, including those caused by prostaglandin analogue-based eyewashes.
INSTRUCTION FOR USE
Apply 1-2 sprays of PROLID OFTA® Eye Spray on the eye, keeping the eyes closed.
It is recommended that you apply PROLID OFTA® Eye Spray 3-4 times a day.
In the case of severe conditions, PROLID OFTA® Eye Spray can be applied even more often. Spray the product on the closed eye from a distance of about 10 cm.
PROLID OFTA® Eye Spray can also be used in the presence of cosmetics: in that case, apply just one spray from a greater distance (about 20 cm). Upon first use, pump repeatedly until the first spray comes out.
Read the package insert carefully.
