GLAUCOMA: disease of the optic nerve characterized by progressive reduction of the visual field and the main cause of irreversible blindness in the world. It is characterized by an increase in intraocular pressure, damage to the optic nerve and a reduction in the visual field.
Medical treatment aims to reduce the production of aqueous humour in the anterior chamber or ease its discharge to reduce intraocular pressure.
Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors are among those drugs used in treatment. Carbonic anhydrase is an enzyme present in the kidneys and the eye which when blocked has a diuretic effect and results in diminished production of aqueous humour. These drugs often have side effects in various tissues (such as possible kidney stones, gastrointestinal disturbances and above all hypokalaemia (reduction in potassium) due to the increased elimination of potassium by the body.

Description
Dietary supplement of magnesium, potassium. L-carnitine and lutein.
With sweeteners.

PATIENTS WITH GLAUCOMA undergoing treatment with topical and systemic carbonic anhydrase inhibitors may face increased loss of potassium and magnesium ions which is manifested with eye strain.
At the same time as treatment with carbonic anhydrase inhibitors therefore, it is important to supplement any electrolyte deficiencies and encourage the production of energy in muscle fibres.

Dietary supplement with CODRASE allows for the rapid recovery of normal values of magnesium and potassium and the optimization of potassium in the muscles thanks also to the effect of carnitin, which encourages the production of energy in the cell, carrying fatty acids to the sites where they are used metabolically.
The administration of carnitin can be useful in all conditions which require increased energy intake on a muscular level. Muscle weakness which is sometimes associated with treatment with carbonic anhydrase inhibitors can therefore be effectively contrasted by supplementary intake of carnitin.
Lutein has an elevated antioxidant effect, it inhibits the peroxidation of membrane lipids and has radical effects.

Product Use

Field of use:

CODRASE® is a dietary supplement of POTASSIUM, MAGNESIUM, L-CARNITINE and LUTEIN (sachets) which treats increased daily requirements for these nutrients and improves the energetic metabolism of muscle fibrocells.

CARNITINA is an amino acid essential for the transport of long chain fatty acids to the mitochondria, where they undergo oxidation and therefore are used metabolically for the production of energy. It also helps the metabolism of carbohydrates in the presence of oxygen. Carnitin plays an important role in eye tissues where muscle cells are present since it encourages the production of energy.

POTASSIO and MAGNESIO are elements which play a fundamental role in many functions of our body such as muscle contraction, the electric stability of cells, maintenance of the integrity of membranes and the transmission of nervous impulses. A deficit in these elements is manifested, among other symptoms, by muscle pain.

LUTEIN (Codrase sachets) is a carotenoid which accumulates in the eye tissues, in particular in the macula and to a small extent, in the crystalline lens. It has specific antioxidant properties which protect the macula and crystalline lens from oxidative damage by free radicals thus helping preserve their anatomical and functional integrity.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
The recommended dose is one sachet per day dissolved in a glass of water (200 ml), preferably in the morning.
